From turning pages to building pathways…

I started The Leisure Library as a bookstagram in 2018 and it was a joy to build such a thoughtful, inspiring community. My mom was very instrumental to me discovering a love of reading as a child, and while I was working on my doctorate I rediscovered my love of books while stretching my brain to create new knowledge in science.

Reading is a part of my self-care routine. It helps me to expand my vocabulary, improve my conversational skills, and explore diverse perspectives.

From the books we read to the shows we watch to the podcasts we listen to, information is everywhere. How we process that information can change how we think, behave, and interact with the world around us. For the past 8 years, I have enjoyed every post, every conversation, and every connection on bookstagram. Each one has been meaningful in its own way. Nevertheless, as I have grown, so has my vision for this space.

I have evolved The Leisure Library to reflect a deeper purpose rooted in the transformative power of knowledge. As a Battery Research Scientist by day, I understand the value of not only acquiring knowledge but also creating it. The fundamental challenge is ACCESS. Everyone does not have access to knowledge-sharing opportunities for personal growth, so this is my way of addressing an unmet need.

I’ve created this educational resource hub to fulfill a personal mission of sharing knowledge and information that I have learned over the years, but also to have meaningful conversations with ALL OF YOU! We are the thought-leaders of the future. Our stories and testimonies matter. My hope is that this site inspires you to learn, grow, and thrive. In addition, I hope that you share your stories of the lessons you have learned along life’s journey. I would love to grow The Leisure Library into a global community where information is shared freely, curiosity is nurtured, and everyone has the opportunity for personal and/or professional development.
